Weight Loss Challenges

Prior to starting a weight loss event you'll want to plan and prepare. Have a plan is especially important. If you'd like to begin a challenge ask around to determine who is interested and discover what people are able to commit to. Make certain you stay positive and make them aware it is more of a support group than an intense competition. The majority of participants will end up shedding weight therefore there won't be any losers. Put money on the table. We almost always require an entry fee for our competitions. Entry dues mean you're committed and give you further commitment. The dues are then used for incentives at the finish of the challenge. You might give all the funds to the biggest loser or split it up how you wish. All of the the competitions We've done tend to be together with extended family or good friends and we all trust that nobody would 'cheat'. We generally create rules for example no diet pills, surgeries or other extraordinary measures. Penalty fees may be necessary to get people to weighing once a week. We have had fines for not weighing in, gaining weight and from time to time we’ll actually require fines for not losing.

It's not easy to keep competitors focused on dropping the pounds for more than a couple weeks. Define milestones and near future targets. Most definitely with lengthy contests it is difficult to stay driven for months. Recently I had accomplishment where we set objectives of 4 and eight weeks and if you hit the milestones you got repaid a portion from your entry payment. Groupings can  allow competitors experience a real sense of obligation. Whenever you have a few individuals who are not nearly as focused as the others or don’t believe that they have the possibility to win then teams can help challenge them to keep trying to help out their group. I had a lot of relatives who seem to really like teams simply because then another individual is dependent on them whereas some people hate it for the same reason or because they then have to depend on others. Be sure to talk to your participants before you start to see whether teams might help.

Try to be positive. It is sometimes exciting to compete however always make sure that the trash talk continues to be playful and friendly. It doesn't help people to insult or boast continuously. Trash talking, if done properly, can help propel the ambitious people to work harder. Around 10 weeks appears to work better. Any more lengthy and you get burnt out and lose participants and very much shorter makes it very hard to see the big effects a competition will help you get. Compensate participants for reaching goals. On a few occasions we have agreed to refund penalty fees for anyone who meets their goal. Be sure everybody has a fair goal. A minimum of one percent per week or so is an appropriate goal.

Consider a post competition. Once the contest has finished it is very common for people to let loose immediately following several weeks of sticking to your diet. In order to prevent this by planning to launch another contest right after the close of the first challenge. Another option is to have another brief contest and see who can keep it off. This allows for some reprieve from strict dieting but keeps people from gaining it all back again quickly.

Just remember, enjoy yourself !! I have discovered weight loss challenges to be very worthwhile. They fit several important factors of a successful weight loss plan. They offer you enthusiasm and accountability and it can be very rewarding to win a few hundred bucks at the same time. There is not really a down side if you offer your best effort. What do you have to lose apart from a few pounds? The money you're going to save on going out to restaurants can go towards your entry fee.
